Be Mine Line Project Idea

Gosh, this is adorable and So Easy!  This idea was on the Better Homes and Garden site.

Heart Garland

String a heart garland on a headboard or mantel. To create the garland, cut similarly sized hearts from scrapbook paper. Cut another set slightly smaller than the first. Glue each small heart on top of a large heart. With a hole punch, punch a hole on either side of each heart. Thread string through the holes in the hearts.

(sew around the smaller heart to give it a little something else)

Check out our new Be Mine Line Valentine papers for this project.

Holiday Photos

The holidays are here and Scrapbook Etc had a great online article for holiday photo taking.  These are some great tips:

Capture Excitement by Photographing Kids Opening Presents
Snapping photos of kids as they open their much-anticipated presents is an easy way to get emotion-packed photos. Keep your camera trained on your subject as he or she opens a gift -- the more photos you take, the more likely you are to capture a priceless expression.

Take Photos of Holiday Lights
To capture the twinkle of holiday lights, there's one trick you have to try: Turn off your flash!

Photograph Quiet Moments
While it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, don't forget to step back and capture quiet moments, like Grandpa reading to his grandson. You'll get especially priceless shots if your subjects don't know they're being photographed.

Take Portrait-Style Holiday Photos
Instead of taking just a head shot, snap photos of your kids enjoying holiday treats. Ask your son or daughter to smile midbite for a delicious seasonal portrait.

Take Holiday Photos from a low Level to Catch all the Action
For better photos of your kids enjoying the holidays, get down on their level.

Photograph the Details
Make time to photograph the details, such as your favorite holiday decoration or the place settings around the table. For best results, shoot these photos during the day.

Photograph Kids at Play
After the excitement of opening presents has passed, grab your camera and snap photos of family members enjoying their new gifts.

With these tips, you'll have wonderful pictures to scrap in the New Year!

Busy Little Scrapbook Store

Busy little shoppers have been in and out scooping up the Christmas paper to make cards and goodies for friends and family.  I love to see what people buy and I love that people want to share their ideas for projects.  Hearing about people's craftiness makes me excited!  Why I love this job... I like to craft too, but I like even more that my shop can inspire people to make wonderful things.  With help from Meg making great scrapbook layout designs and myself making gift bags, wreaths, and Christmas tree ornaments, people come in and say "what a great idea and I want to do that" :)

Between the classes, crops, and shoppers I try to find time to keep up with my school work.  The end of the semester is upon me and on my two days off tomorrow and Tuesday, I will be writing two 5 page papers to finish up my classes.  Looking forward to the winter break before classes start in January that are going to be quick paced 7 weeks courses.  I will enjoy the time off for now :)  I have been late getting out the newsletter this month because of the timing of the end of the semester, but it will be done and emailed very soon! :)

We finally were able to decorate our Christmas tree after it had been in the stand for a week so I wanted to share some pictures :)  We have a wonderful collection of old and new ornaments.  I'd love to add my paper ornaments to it but I think they look great on display in the store!

Post Holiday Tummy & Black Friday!

I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving!  Ours was really delightful, spending time with my parents and playing games. I could barely fit into my jeans the next day for our Black Friday Event, but luckily with a bit of strength I found from the turkey protein, I managed to get into them!  Black Friday was fun!  I think most people are at the malls, but we still had shoppers having cider, making make n' takes, and buying for their secret Santa gifts!  Now starts the holiday season!  If we could just get some snow rather than 55 degree weather with rain, that would be perfect!
