I always hand stitch from start to finish. I don't even own a sewing machine. The owl is stitched around by hand as is the pillow square hand stitched. I feel like the pictures don't do it justice - it is so cute in person! I used the Cricut to create the owl.
The sidewalks are now clear here and the parking ban lifted. Here are some pictures:
I just thought this last picture was fun... Welcome to Paper! Paper! :)
I love your blog. Just found it via facebook. And that owl pillow is adorable. Being crafty is so fun.. especially on a snow day : )
ReplyDeleteI obviously need some lessons on how to use my Cricut! Love the pillow...adorable!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Did you cut the owl on your cricut using fabric? I love this!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love this pillow! After seeing this I had to become a follower and now I want to make something similiar myself!
ReplyDeleteHello Everyone! Thanks for the comments! Here is how I cut the owl: First, you will be using your cricut to cut the owl so I cut a 12x12 piece and ironed on heat n bond to the back of it. Peel off the paper backing and stick onto your cricut mat. Cricut had deep cut blade, pressure on Medium and on the slowest speed. I used the Hoot N' Holler cartridge and used the layers feature to cut each fabric I wanted. (save your pieces with heat n' bond already attached because they are great for small things you need, such as the inside of eyes). There were little sections where the fabric did not cut, but just use scissors for that. Then you will iron on each layer on a piece of fabric. I then hand stitched around what I wanted and made the pillow square, stuffed it, blind stitched the opening and there it is - ADORABLE pillow :) Happy Crafting :)
