Webster's Pages Game On

I fell in love with this collection when I saw it!  They came out with a great sports collection that is so versatile, it could be used for boys, girls, cheering, sports, board games, playground, etc... Way to go Websters!  I was happy to finally work with it and scrap this great picture of my niece in her basketball uniform.  I added the jute twine for some subtance at the top and that great leathery looking brad to carry over the circles.  Enjoy the holiday weekend!

Authentique May Challenge

Well here Authentique goes again, challenging me.  Well this one was a challenge indeed.  I personally would never take paper and put it on an angle but I aspire to be that person.  The one that can take paper and put it on an angle without someone telling me to do it.  I like to THINK I'm an outside of the box thinker, but sometimes the box is so warm and cozy.  Here is Authentique's May Challenge:

There is a scrapbook sketch as well, but I decided to create the card this time.  So here it is, using Authentique's Splendid, Bazzill Cardstock, and Hero Arts Stamps:

You can join in too!  Time is almost up, so head over to their blog and take a peak:  Authentique's Blog

Simple Stories Summer Fresh & A new website!

Well let me start out with this - Simple Stories Summer Fresh is one of my very favorite collections ever!  Owning a scrapbook shop, I see a lot of collections and I have to say, I love SO many of them and by love, I mean I LOVE them!  Paper is the best thing since sliced bread.  To me anyway.  BUT when I saw Summer Fresh from Simple Stories, it quickly became one of my all time favorites.  As soon as it found it's way out of the shipping box (which by the way was in seconds) I jumped on that train!  I got the one way ticket to cuteness!  So, the collection came out of the box in seconds but to my surprise, the box that was holding the mini albums was still on the UPS truck.  Nooooooo!  In a couple hours it was in my hands and away I went.  I had a 3-5 page paper due for a final exam that night and guess what I did instead (don't tell my professor) - The album!  (I did get the paper in)

I can't give away too much since this is a class being offered at our shop, but it is a cutie!  This is also available online.  Don't live near us?  We can send the kit to you!  Choose the payment with shipping button on our website and we'll ship to you with the instructions!  (USA only)  http://www.paper-paper.net/mini-album-class

And speaking of the website.... We have a new one!  Check it out - We now have scrapbook tips of the week (who can ever have enough scrapbook tips) and all the information on our classes, crops, and retreats!

Two Fold Card

This card is beyond simple to make and I love the way it closes with the hearts overlapping the opposite side.  I cut the cardstock at 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" and then just met the two long ends in the middle, Then decorated.  These stamps are actually Stamping Up!  which is my first purchase from them.  Owning a shop, I am exposed to so many great stamps, but I really enjoyed the multiple hearts in this package.  Stamped in Adirondacks Espresso Ink, I love the neutral colors of this one.

Card Making With Hero Arts and My Minds Eye

This Hero Arts bird stamp really makes me smile.  Cutting him out makes him come to life on this card paired with My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline paper.  The barn board seems so perfect for this nature scene.

File Folder Album

Office supplies lead to fantastic creations.  Look around and find some treasures hiding!  This was a class we held here a few weeks ago and now it is time to share the whole thing.  I used mostly Simple Stories Year-O-Graphy and included every month in this Year long album.  I love that photos can just be added and I'll have an entire album finished in the end!  Hope you enjoy:

Travel Mini Album w/ American Crafts

Making this travel mini album was so fun!  I love American Crafts Amy Tangerine collection - The colors are so bright and perfect for the summer travel season... We have this class coming up on April 23, 2012.  Really excited to see everyone create these for their adventures

Precious little boys and girls

These are the moments that I cherish.  A captured time such as this when the new big brother and big sister are kissing their little brother who just arrived in the world the month before.  Showing their love for him touched my heart and in black and white, I feel like it is that much more sentimental.  I used Echo Park This & That Charming and Graceful collections.

Authentique Challenge

It is no secret that I love working with Authentique.  They just announced their March challenge on their blog.  They have a layout and card challenge each month and I always love a good challenge!  So I decided to join in this month and play with Authentique's Gathering.

The Sketch:

My version:

Usually I try to change something on the layout but this all went together so well I didn't think I needed to.  This is my friend's beautiful daughter who we love to spend time with... We don't have kids of our own so we borrow nieces and nephews and friend's kids to bring fun places :)

Check this sketch out over at Authentique's Blog and join in the fun!

Little Yellow Bicyle Challenge

I love challenges... they make me think outside the box, get creative, and use up supplies I haven't used yet!  When Little Yellow Bicycle came out with the February/March challenge I thought, yes!  This one I must do and use Hello Fall!  I have loved this collection ever since it arrive at our LSS, Paper Paper.  I have seen what our scrappers have done with it at crops and I was ready to play too!

Here's the challenge:

This is my interpretation:

I was really happy with how this came out.  My pages are usually not so full of stuff and it is always a challenge for me to do that so I love thinking outside of my box :)  Those corrugated cardboard shapes are my favorite!

Crops Make Us Silly

Ok, so sometimes we can get quite silly at crops.  We laugh so hard we cry, we sing, we eat, we have fun!  One of our croppers has a hubby who really likes to spoil us ladies and we never say no and really enjoy it!  Especially when it involves pastry.  He brought these to our last crop and lets just say our eyes popped out of our heads and they were actually the size of our heads!

And a couple group shots of the ladies who scrapped the day away:

Crop Challenges - The Latest

I love seeing the inspiration that comes from these challenges we give at our 12 hour crops.... The ladies have so much fun working on the same sketches, yet seeing how different they all come out!  The last crop we had was on Super Bowl Sunday - It was a blast and we have such a great group of women that get together to get creative!

These are the sketches the ladies worked off of:

And here is the creativity that came through:

Beautiful pictures here on Ellen's pages - Love that 4th of July paper from My Mind's Eye used for summer layouts!  She did a great job capturing the colors in the photos.
Stephanie shared her two layouts using Crate Paper and Echo Park - Beautiful job on these - Of course she had to add some ric rac.
Hillary did a fantastic job with all these great papers she had - She even did one of the layouts twice and they came out totally different... AWESOME.
I love that Kara is a brand new scrapbooker and look at those pages!  She only started the Friday before the 12 hour crop and I think she did a great job!  A combination of Disney packs we have in the shop and My Mind's Eye.
Kim's pages came out awesome.  They are both totally different themes and so great!  I love how she put the pictures in circles - She did a great job on these using Webster's Pages and Echo Park.
Shannon decided on doing one of the challenges and this is the one she chose.  Great job showing off her new nephew using Authentique.  I'm feeling inspired... How about you?

My Love For Babies

Well what's not to love?  They are so darn cute with their giggles, crooked smiles, and little outfits and they make great subjects for adorable pictures!  I took this picture of my nephew back in Oct although on the journaling I put November, remembering it was earlier afterwards, so I'm sure he will be highly confused when he gets older and think that he is actually a week older than previously thought.  Blue background paper was a MUST to compliment those big blue eyes!  I used Little Yellow Bicycle Winter Twig for the background and American Crafts Amy Tangerine collection for the rest of it along with some Bazzill Just the Edge cardstock pieces. I used Thickers for the title.

Websters Pages Sunday Picnic

Well this wasn't a Sunday or a picnic, but this paper is incredible and I just had to get creative immediately!  Webster's Pages really hits it out of the park with the quality and colors of their papers.  If you haven't had a chance to work with it, I suggest you run (carefully), not walk to your local LSS and grab some!
