My Love For Babies

Well what's not to love?  They are so darn cute with their giggles, crooked smiles, and little outfits and they make great subjects for adorable pictures!  I took this picture of my nephew back in Oct although on the journaling I put November, remembering it was earlier afterwards, so I'm sure he will be highly confused when he gets older and think that he is actually a week older than previously thought.  Blue background paper was a MUST to compliment those big blue eyes!  I used Little Yellow Bicycle Winter Twig for the background and American Crafts Amy Tangerine collection for the rest of it along with some Bazzill Just the Edge cardstock pieces. I used Thickers for the title.

Websters Pages Sunday Picnic

Well this wasn't a Sunday or a picnic, but this paper is incredible and I just had to get creative immediately!  Webster's Pages really hits it out of the park with the quality and colors of their papers.  If you haven't had a chance to work with it, I suggest you run (carefully), not walk to your local LSS and grab some!

Crop Challenges

I love the inspiration that challenges give me and the ladies coming to the 12 hour crops are loving it too!  I send them the sketches ahead of time so they can pack accordingly and they work on the sketches at the crop.  I love see the creativity that comes out of everyone and the final results!  This last crop took place on a snowy day with croppers in their slippers, sipping on hot cocoa...  Here I'll share with you what the ladies came up with....

Authentique Challenge:

I love how different they all are... they all used different papers and took it in their own direction!

Little Yellow Bicycle Challenge:

Great job ladies!  At the end we draw two winners from everyone who completed the sketches.  Happy Scrapping!

A Little Behind

I am behind in my posts because I am a bit behind in Challenges and upcoming classes.... But not to worry!  I will be posting some new goodies over the next few days!  They are talking snow for this weekend but I am hoping that they are wrong.  We have a 12 hour crop in the store and I love spending time with these great ladies!  Entertaining is so fun to me and this weekend will be no different... Taco Salad Bar, Hot Milk Sponge Cake... Some great giveaways... Love it!  Happy Scrappin'!

Clean and Simple Card Making - Die Cuts

I love tone on tone cards and the way this card is created really showcases the pattern although you are using the same colors.  Here is the example:

It snowed here last night so my inspiration were snowflakes.  I love bright white against navy blue, so I decided to use navy as my background and white for the embossing.  Here I used Bazzil Cardstock and cut snowflakes from the Joys of the Season Cricut Cartridge at 2 1/2"  I used a total of 9 snowflakes.  Three are glued on top of one another to create a 3-D like dimension.  I used double sided tape to adhere them to the card rather than glue so the paper didn't wrinkle.  I love how simple this is but really makes a statement because of the pop of the snowflakes!

I do have that Memory Box Butterfly Die in the shop.... I may just have to make that one too!

Clean and Simple Card Making

The challenge of day two - Making flat cards - The first picture is the sample card.  I didn't have that specific Hero Arts stamp so I used this doily lace one.  I also didn't have stamps that had the outlines and the inside, so I stamped off to make one lighter than the other.

I used Adirondack Dye Ink in Espresso and Lettuce
Both stamps are from Hero Arts stamps

Card Challenge

I was feeling extra creative today so I decided to enter another card challenge for Skipping Stones Design.  I love challenges ... they inspire me and introduce me to designs that I may not have typically chosen for myself.  This is the sketch:

This is what I created:

Cards are fantastic for using up scraps and especially a card like this!  So if you scrapbook like I do and have lots of scraps left over, this is a great use for them!

Used: Authentique Journey
          Bazzill Cardstock in White
          Adirondack Dye Ink in Espresso
          Hero Arts Clear Stamp
          The Twinery Twine

Clean and Simple Card Making

Today I started an online class.  I always love to learn new things that I can introduce to our customers.  Just as they love to be inspired when they come to Paper! Paper!, I love to be inspired too!

The first sketch I followed on day one:

The lesson was to use a background stamp to "mask" - I decided to use a thank you background stamp I had and since I needed to make some thank you cards after the holidays, it worked out perfect!  I have been dying to make some little twine embellishments for while so I was excited to incorporate those!  Since Ribbon Carousel was holding a challenge for using twine or ribbon this week, it worked out even better!

Valentines Collections

I love Valentines Day.  The colors, the snow that usually accompanies it, the romance of love in winter.  I don't think of it as a couple's holiday... rather spending time with anyone you love... your children, your significant other, your friends, your pets... whomever or whatever brings you joy and you share your love with.  Recently we added two new collections to Paper! Paper!

Crate Paper Paper Heart Collection:

The papers are great for Valentine's Day, but are fabulous for lots of different pages too!  Here is one I found and love the use of it for something totally different:

Layout By:  Raechelle Bellus

Then there is My Mind's Eye Love Me Collection:
Loooove the doilies on this paper.... so amazing with vintage photos!  I even cut them out and made a garland!
